Marriage is a lot like... HONEY!
Honey is sweet as long as one does not eat too much.
Marriage is sweet but even roses have their thorns.
Making honey is a lot of work and requires a lot of time.
Keeping a marriage strong takes a lot of effort as well.
In the Bible, honey was given as a gift.
Marriage is also a beautiful gift from God.
Honey has healing properties.
Marriage heals one of loneliness.
Honey is pleasant to the taste and meant for enjoyment.
God desires a marriage to be beautiful and joyful.
Honey is pure.
Within Marriage, lovemaking is pure and holy.
Honey is a treasure to those who find it when they are weary.
Finding the one that God made specifically for you is like finding a hidden treasure.
If kept in an airtight container, honey will never go bad.
Marriage will always be fresh, if God is in the center of the relationship.
We cannot attain honey on our own; we rely on the bees for it.
Even so, we must rely on God to make our marriage what it should be.

(I did some research on Honey and how it compares to Marriage to come up with a Poem for Julia's Surprise Bridal Shower on Jan. 24th 2014. Above is the finished poem and below is the research. )

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of honey? FB friends say...
Husband, Pooh, Warm, Bees,
What Google has to say about Honey facts:
1.With the arrival and development of the American Colonies in the 17th century, honey was carried even further weight. Honey was used in the making of cement (crystallized sugar-not something, I would want to be bopped on the head with...). Moreover, it was also used in food preparation, to make beverages, as a fruit preserver, in furniture polish and varnish as well as for medicinal purposes.
2. With the tip on how colonists used honey as a fruit preserver, honey discovered to soak up moisture rapidly. To have cake and cookies last longer, and retain that moistness, substitute one-half of the required sugar with honey. After all two primary ingredients of honey are fructose and glucose, which are sugars.
3. Have allergies? Take a teaspoon a day of a honey made from the region where you reside and it will aid in developing resistance to pollen thereby reducing your allergies.
4. September is National Honey Month. Now I know most of us think of Winnie the Pooh when we think of honey. What? You do not think of Pooh and his many adventures to secure honey for his honey pots? What do you think about then when you think or see honey?
5. Honey is a Hebrew word meaning enchant. Initially it was a culinary sweeter, but now it is also recognized world wide as a healing ingredient in medicinal treatment.
6. Honey never goes bad if kept in a sealed container.
7. You could actually live off a just-honey diet because it is considered to be the only kind of food that has all necessary substances to sustain a normal human life, though it would be quite boring to have nothing but honey, eh?
8. Honey is the ONLY food that includes all the substances necessary to sustain life, including water.
